Media releases, even those written by professionals, sometimes aren't that interesting. The trouble is, the same words and phrases crop up time and time again, which only serves to make the subject matter even more forgettable, not to mention meaningless.
Decision making is an art and a science which has been studied over generations. The secret of marketing lies in learning what the customer wants and how to influence the customers decision making process so that he buys our product above competition.
Behind a simple decision making process, there are many thought processes which influence the decision making. A buyer may take an emotional, spur of the moment decision, or he may take a well thought out and researched decision. Based on his observation, different processes can be defined for decision making.
This time of year there is the annual glut of big, vague and safe lists of trends we love to read and share. We seem obsessed with lists.
But think of the problem with these lists… Each and every year lists appear to generalise, distort and delete, so by definition they remove what’s relevant to you. They create edges that don’t exist, and so they remove the real value. They can’t help but do that. Any list is written from ‘their’ start point, how likely is that directly applicable by you?
